The three books of the top of my head..

1. Q &  A – Vikas Swarup.. story of a guy with a life filled by grueling misfortunes and torments.. seen by the world as the luckiest person !

read it about 3 years back.. told from the perspective of a slum-kid who has just won a million dollars in a quizzing comp.. as it turns out he was able to answer because of the life experiences and how the questions were deeply inter-twined with his life events…

2. The last lecture – Randy Pausch
Life story of a cancer-ridden professor and how he views the world now when he actually is at the other side of the tunnel..

3. The namesake – Jhumpa Lahiri
Describes the struggles and hardships of a couple who immigrate to the United States to form a life outside of everything they know
